Amid the high-voltage campaigning for the upcoming Jharsuguda bypoll, Odisha BJP President Manmohan Samal has demanded  Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's answer about the murder of Cabinet Minister Naba Das.

Addressing a public meeting as part of BJP’s campaigning, Samal questioned whether the Ministers and MLAs have met CM Patnaik in the last 14 years or not.

The senior saffron party leader urged people of Jharsuguda to vote for BJP candidate Tankadhar Tripathy.

As per Samal, people of Jharsuguda don’t want ‘Tanka’ (money), rather they want Tanka (BJP candidate). They want peace in the constituency and therefore they will vote for BJP candidate Tankadhar in the upcoming bypoll.

Addressing the meeting, Samal said, “Where is the end of injustice, torture, terror and corruption? Does democracy exist in the State? Have the Ministers and MLAs met CM Patnaik in the last 14 years? Who is running the government in the State? Is the Chief Minister physically and mentally stable enough to run the government? If not he should leave his position.”

Notably, voting for Jharsuguda bypoll will be held on May 10 and counting of votes will be done on May 13.

The bypoll in Jharsuguda was necessitated by the murder of sitting MLA & Cabinet Minister, Naba Das on January 29, 2023.
