IndiGo introduces direct flights from Bhubaneswar to Bagdogra via Durgapur

IndiGo has launched direct flights connecting Bhubaneswar and Bagdogra via a stopover at Andal near Durgapur, operating four days a week. Daily services between Durgapur and Bhubaneswar have also been introduced. Vinay Malhotra of IndiGo announced this new route aimed at enhancing connectivity. Flights will run on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

IndiGo introduces direct flights from Bhubaneswar to Bagdogra via Durgapur

Enhancing trade, travel and tourism, airline giant IndiGo has introduced direct flights connecting Bhubaneswar and Bagdogra with a stopover at Andal, located near Durgapur in south Bengal. The flights would operate four days a week. However, there will be daily flights from Durgapur to Bhubaneswar and vice-versa.

“We are pleased to announce new routes connecting Durgapur with Bhubaneswar, Bagdogra and Guwahati. With these direct flights, we aim to provide our customers with further seamless connectivity,” informed Vinay Malhotra, head of global sales at IndiGo.

As per Airports Authority of India (AAI) sources, the flights will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The flight will depart from BBSR at 11:15am and land in Durgapur at 12:55pm. It will then take off at 1:15pm and reach Bagdogra at 2:20pm.

On its return, the flight will take off from Bagdogra at 2:55pm and reach Durgapur at 4:05pm. From there, it will once again leave Durgapur for Bhubaneswar.  The direct flights will go to a great extent in reducing travel time on trains.

The new flight connectivity will mostly help tourists from north Bengal who come to Puri, a favourite hotspot destination of Bengali tourists. The service will also benefit students who study in Odisha.
