In a bid to streamline the recruitment process, Indian Army has changed the recruitment method.

Revealing about the changes in the recruitment method, the Army Recruitment Center informed in a presser at Cuttack on Tuesday that a computer based online entrance test has been introduced as the first screening test for the candidates intending to be recruited as soldiers.

After clearing the online examination, candidates have to go through physical and medical tests. Subsequently, the merit list will be published.

All the information regarding the examinations will be available on joinindianarmy.nic.in. The examinations will be held at 176 centers across the country. In Odisha, the examinations will be conducted at six places and those are Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Berhampur, Balasore, Rourkela and Dhenkanal.

Candidates have to pay Rs 250 during the time of registration from this year. Army recruitment for 2023 will be conducted from April 17 to May 4. Candidates from 17 and half years to 21 years can apply for Agniveers.

“A computer-based online examination will be conducted first as the major change in the method of the examination for recruitment in Indian Army. The candidates can register online, but they have to be present in examination centers to appear in those online examinations,” said Cornell Haminder Singh, Director of the Army Recruitment Office, Cuttack.

“The second major change in the method is the candidates have to pay Rs 250 during the registration for the recruitment,” he added.
