Indian Air Force jawan Swarajya Sahu, who died from injuries in a cylinder explosion, was laid to rest in Konark with full military honours.

The last rites of Air Force jawan Swarajya Sahu were performed on Saturday at the local cremation ground in his village, Sundar, under Astaranga police limits in Puri district.

He was honoured with a gun salute by fellow Air Force personnel during the ceremony.

Sahu was posted in Agra. He had been undergoing treatment after sustaining critical injuries in a cylinder explosion. 

His death has plunged the entire village into grief. A native of Sundar village, Swarajya Sahu had joined the Indian Air Force in 2011 and was serving in Agra at the time of the incident.
