Independence Day: Two from Odisha to receive President’s Medal for distinguished service

ASP Rabindra Panda and Commandant Naresh Patel from Odisha Police are among those selected for the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service on Independence Day 2025, alongside others receiving Gallantry and Meritorious Service medals.

20 Odisha police personnel to receive Governor’s Medals for 2023

Two senior police officers from Odisha have been selected for the prestigious President’s Medal for Distinguished Service on the occasion of Independence Day 2025. 

ASP Rabindra Panda and Commandant Naresh Patel will be honoured for their outstanding contributions to policing and public service.

According to the list released by the Ministry of Home Affairs, nine personnel from Odisha Police will also receive the Medal for Gallantry for acts of exceptional bravery in the line of duty.

In addition, eleven officers from the state will be conferred with the Medal for Meritorious Service in recognition of their notable dedication and long-standing service.

The awards form part of the national list of Gallantry and Service medals announced every year on the eve of Independence Day. These honours acknowledge extraordinary courage, distinguished service, and commitment to safeguarding public safety.
