Ahead of the budget session, a two-day senior IAS Officers’ Conference kicked off at Loka Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik attended the inaugural session of the senior IAS Officers' Conference along with several ministers and officers today.

Odisha Chief Secretary, Suresh Mohapatra said that several state ministers, additional chief secretaries and others involved in policy-making, supervision charge, and at the implementation stage, district-level Collectors, municipal commissioners and other officers are participating in the conference.

A detailed presentation and deliberations on 17 emerging subjects and transformative initiatives adopted by the government will be discussed at the conference. The main objective is to ensure that all the welfare schemes and other facilities reach the citizens.

Odisha has been at the forefront of many states for its transformative initiatives. Be it sports, healthcare, school transformation, women empowerment, skill development, crop production and Covid management are some of the sectors that attract special mention, said CM Naveen Patnaik.

“The 5T Initiative and ‘Mo Sarkar’, - these twin initiatives have brought about transformative governance and have enhanced our people’s outreach programmes. At the district level, collectors and district administrations are required to reach out to more and more people, find out issues of concern, and use technology to sort out them in a faster and simple, hassle-free manner,” Patnaik added.

According to Mohapatra, Odisha has been lauded and is being treated as a role model in India in various sectors owing to disaster management, sports, good governance, and prudent financial management. Odisha has also launched several path-breaking schemes like KALIA, Jaga Mission, Mamata, MUKTA and others in the past few years for the welfare of the people in the state.

All these schemes and use of technology will be discussed so that citizens can avail the services through online and at their doorstep, said Mohapatra adding that the conference will also address scheme and policy-related gaps and implementation and a future road map will also be prepared.
