A human skeleton was found in Urmagarh waterfall under Gochapada Police Station of Kandhamal district on Monday. 

According to sources, some fishermen were fishing at the waterfall and found the skeleton stuck around the edges of stones. 

On being informed, the police reached the spot and recovered the skeleton. 

A family from Kartingia panchayat of the district claimed that the skeleton is of one Rakhal Behera, who went missing in October. 

“While we were fishing in the waterfall we found the skeleton and informed the Gaon Sathi. Then the police arrived at the spot,” said a local.

Sanjay Kumar Behera, who claims to be the relative of the deceased said, “On October 8, we came to visit this place, where Rakhal went missing in the waterfall. The rescue team searched for him, but they were unable to find him. Today, after we heard the news about the recovery of a skeleton from the waterfall, we were confirmed that it belongs to Rakhal.”

Till the time of filing of this report, no comments were received from the police regarding the identity of the deceased while a probe was launched.
