Cobra and Eggs Safely Relocated

A prompt response from a local rescue team ensured the safe relocation of both the mother cobra and her eggs. Following the discovery, the rescue team quickly acted to remove the cobra from the cowshed to ensure both its and the villagers' safety.

The team carefully transported the mother cobra to a nearby forest, where it resumed its natural lifestyle away from human habitation. Concurrently, the 13 eggs were placed in artificial incubation conditions to help them develop safely.

Hatching and Release

Following successful incubation, the cobra eggs later hatched into healthy hatchlings. In a continuation of the protective measures, the baby cobras were later released into their new home in the forest, rejoining their mother.

Caution Advised During Monsoon

With the monsoon season spurring more hatchling activity, Suvendu Mallick, Snake Helpline's general secretary, has cautioned locals to remain vigilant. The increased rainfall conditions favour more frequent hatchings, raising the likelihood of encountering snakes.

“We urge the villagers to be cautious and report any snake sightings to the appropriate authorities,” Mallik stated.
