Huge Cobra found trapped under truck’s tyre; rescued after hours of effort in Odisha

In a dramatic and unusual incident near NH-143 close to Bonai in Sundargarh district, a huge cobra was rescued after being discovered trapped under a dumper truck.

The incident unfolded when a dumper truck suddenly came to a halt near a roadside area. The driver, puzzled by the sudden mechanical resistance, stepped out to inspect the vehicle. To his shock, a cobra was seen partially stuck beneath the truck's tyre.

Later, the local Snake Helpline members were informed. Upon inspection, the rescuers found that the snake had possibly crawled into the chassis area of the dumper and got entangled and was unable to escape.

Despite multiple attempts by the rescue team, the snake refused to come out, coiled tightly and visibly stressed. After considerable patience and effort, the snake was safely freed using specialized rescue tools, ensuring that the reptile wasn’t harmed during the process. 

The team then released the snake back into a nearby forested area, away from human habitation.
