The Orissa High Court on Wednesday granted conditional bail to Archana Nag, the alleged mastermind in the sensational honeytrap and blackmailing racket.

The bail was granted in connection with the FIR registered against her at Khandagiri Police Station in Bhubaneswar in an alleged extortion case.

As per the direction of the court, Archana will cooperate with the ongoing investigation. She will not influence the witnesses or give any opinion outside regarding her trials.

Earlier in April this year, Archana was granted bail in a case lodged at Nayapalli Police Station. She has got bail in two out of three cases against her so far.

However, she will continue to remain in jail as she was arrested in a similar case registered by the enforcement directorate (ED).

Archana is accused of extorting money from influential people by blackmailing them with objectionable videos and is currently lodged in jail. Archana was arrested on October 6 last year after her former associate, Shradhanjali lodged a complaint at the Khandagiri Police Station on October 2. She accused Archana, Jagabandhu, and their associate Khageswar Patra of trapping her in their racket, forcing her to blackmail bigwigs.

An FIR was also filed at Nayapalli Police Station by film producer Akshay Parija, accusing her of demanding Rs 3 crore by threatening to leak his obscene videos.

The ED is investigating the financial transactions in the honeytrap racket.
