The Odisha government has declared a holiday for all schools and colleges in the Bhubaneswar Municipality Corporation (BMC) area.
The holiday has been declared on account of PM Narendra Modi's visit to Bhubaneswar, where he will be launching the Subhadra Yojana.
According to the press note released by the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), all the government offices in the capital city will also remain closed for the first half on September 17.
Under SUBHADRA Yojana, an eligible beneficiary will receive Rs 10,000 in two equal instalments of Rs 5000 each year for five years. The amount will be credited directly to the beneficiary’s Aadhaar-enabled and DBT-enabled bank account.

Besides launching the much-awaited SUBHADRA yojana on his birthday, the Prime Minister is also scheduled to lay the foundation stones for several projects worth more than Rs 3800 crore.
