A thick blanket of security cover will be in place for the mega FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup in Bhubaneswar, said Twin City Police Commissioner Soumendra Priyadarshi on Thursday.

Sharing details, the Police Commissioner informed that around 81 platoons of police force will be deployed in Bhubaneswar alone.

The overall focus will be on the security of players, officials, their place of stay, transit and tour to venue and other parts of the city. Besides, a detailed arrangement has been made for strengthening the traffic system.

“Around 81 platoons of police force will be deployed for the overall security and other arrangements. Our focus will be on security of players, officials and spectators and ensuring that they return with good memories and experience,” said Priyadarshi.

The Commissionerate Police today launched a digital handbook related to the Hockey World Cup where comprehensive information can be obtained. The digital handbook consists of 12 pages and it will be easy for all to access information in it.

Apart from this, the Commissionerate Police also launched a special logo ‘In Khakhi For Hockey’. The logo will be worn by security personnel and officials who will be deployed for security during the Hockey World Cup, said Priyadarshi.
