It was one of its kind experience for several Hindu devotees from Pakistan to have a darshan of Lord Jagannath, the Lord of the Universe, at Puri Srimandir. Around 45 devotees from Karachi, who are now on a religious expedition to India, visited the sacred shrine in Puri after necessary formalities and verification of passports.

The devotees, including several elderly and children, expressed their satisfaction and termed their visit ‘fruitful’ after getting darshan of Lord Jagannath and his sibling deities at Puri temple. The devotees from Pakistan visited Puri with necessary assistance and coordination from Odisha International Centre.

“It was a divine experience that cannot be described in words. We feel blessed to have got an opportunity to visit Puri and get darshan of the Lord,” said a devotee.

The devotee further informed that they had been observing the annual Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath from Karachi since 2009. “We had left Karachi on January 11 and after visiting several Gurudwaras in Lahore the next day, we visited several religious places in India including Haridwar,” the devotee added.
