High drama as woman sleeps in front of estranged husband’s car seeking justice

High drama unfolded on Gop block premises in Puri district on Thursday when a woman slept in front of his husband’s car demanding justice. Hundreds of people gathered at the place to witness the ignoble incident.

The woman has been identified as Rajalaxmi Biswal who hails from Raisa village under Kakatpur police station.

As per the allegations of Rajalaxmi, her husband Rajkishore Biswal, who hails from Mahinipur village under Gop police station, has been cheating on her for the last 35 years. She alleged that her husband married another woman and handed over all her gold ornaments to her. She demanded that, Rajkishore should return all her goods and provide her maintenance money.

Rajalaxmi further alleged that her husband used to force her to drink liquor and do illegal work which prompted her to leave him. She alleged that running to various police stations and courts for many years yielded no result following which she slept in front of his husband’s car to get justice.

The couple has a son who is now staying with Rajalaxmi.

On the other hand, Rajkishore refuted all the allegations levelled against him. Though he admitted that Rajalaxmi is his wife, he brushed aside all other allegations.

As per Rajkishore, Rajalaxmi has left him for many years and their divorce case is now sub-judice.

“Rajalaxmi often tries to defame me intentionally. The divorce case is pending in court. Things will be settled as per the verdict of the court,” said Rajkishore.
