Following the Pahalgam terror attack, Bhubaneswar railway station saw heightened security with RPF conducting drills and a flag march. Surveillance has been intensified to ensure passenger safety.

Flag March At Bhubaneswar Railway Station

In the wake of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, security has been tightened at Bhubaneswar railway station as a precautionary measure. Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel on Tuesday conducted an extensive security drill and flag march to ensure the safety of passengers and maintain heightened vigilance at the key transportation hub.

Rigorous Checking

The RPF team carried out a thorough inspection of the station premises, checking platforms, waiting areas, and entry and exit points for any suspicious activity or unattended luggage. Special attention was given to crowd-dense zones and areas with high commuter traffic. The drill was aimed at enhancing preparedness in case of any security breach and to reassure passengers of a secure travel environment.

According to RPF officials, such mock drills and flag marches are conducted regularly as part of routine safety checks. However, today’s operation was particularly stringent in response to intelligence alerts and the national security situation post the Pahalgam incident. The RPF has also coordinated with the Government Railway Police (GRP) and local law enforcement to strengthen surveillance and joint patrolling in and around the station.

Officials have urged passengers to remain alert, cooperate during checks, and report any suspicious behaviour or objects. Public announcements were made to spread awareness about the enhanced security protocols.

Railway authorities have confirmed that all train operations are running as per schedule and that there is no cause for panic. The security forces remain on high alert, with increased deployment and monitoring systems to prevent any potential threat.

The Pahalgam attack, which shocked the nation, has led to similar security upgrades at key railway stations across India, particularly those with high passenger volumes and strategic importance.
