Weather forecasts and warning for next 24 hours
With a monsoon trough at mean sea level passing east-northeastwards to the Bay of Bengal, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre on Monday predicted heavy rain and thunderstorms with lightning in several Odisha districts till August 9.
The IMD has issued a Yellow Warning for the next five days in these districts of the State.
In its midday bulletin, the IMD stated, “The highest maximum (day) temperature of 36.6°C was recorded yesterday at Paralakhemundi and the lowest minimum (night) temperature of 22.0°C was recorded at Phulbani in the plains of Odisha.”
For Monday (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 05.08.2025)
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha.
Yellow Warning: (Be Aware)- Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
