With the cyclonic circulation prevalent over north Chhattisgarh & neighbourhood, and north Odisha between 0.9 & 1.5 Km above mean sea level, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday predicted heavy rain and thunderstorm with lightning in some districts of the State during the next six days.
The IMD has issued a Yellow Warning in these districts till July 17.
In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD regional centre said, “Light to moderate rainfall has occurred yesterday at many places over the districts of Odisha. The highest maximum temperature of 34.6°C was recorded at Puri, and the lowest minimum temperature of 20.8°C was recorded at Nabarangpur in the plains of Odisha.”

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.
Yellow Warning: (Be Aware)- Heavy rain and thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Sundargarh, and Mayurbhanj.
Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Bargarh, Subarnapur, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jagatsinhpur, Kendrapara, and Cuttack.
For Saturday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 12.07.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 13.07.2025)
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.
Yellow Warning: (Be Aware)- Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Nuapada, and Koraput.
