Odisha government on Tuesday closed all government and private schools up to class 12 on April 19 and April 20 due to the prevailing heat wave conditions.

The Anganwadi centres will also be closed on these two days.

The Chief Secretary informed this through a tweet which read, “All Govt, aided and private schools up to Std-12 and all Anganwadi Centres in Odisha shall remain closed on 19th and 20th April due to prevailing heat wave conditions.”

It is pertinent to mention here that the schools were recently opened on Monday after being shut for six days due to the heat wave.

However, just two days after reopening, the schools have again been closed for the prevailing heat wave conditions.

Prior to that, on April 11, all the government and private schools across Odisha were directed to start morning classes. As per the latest timings, classes will start from 6:30 AM and continue till 11AM in the morning.
