People of Odisha should remain prepared for an intense summer in coming days as the mercury level will soar further in next couple of days. 

As per the prediction by the Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, the State will experience a rise in temperature by two to four degree Celsius in the next two days.

As per the prediction by IMD, the heat wave condition will be intense during April and the surge in temperature is likely to break all time record during the period. The duration of heat wave condition will be longer during April this year.

Similarly, the State is likely to witness intense heat wave condition for more than six to fourteen days during April and June in comparison to previous years. 

Moreover, as per IMD sources, the heat wave condition will increase during day time while humid condition will be experienced at night. Mainly, coastal, interior and northern parts of Odisha will witness such type of condition for the next two days. The maximum temperature in these parts of the State may touch up to 40 degree Celsius during the period.

“Temperature is likely to rise by two to four degree Celsius in many parts of the State in next two days. Costal and interior parts of Odisha may witness maximum temperature up to 40 degree Celsius. North, costal and interior parts of Odisha will experience intense heat wave condition between April 4 and 6,” said Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar Director Dr. Manorama Mohanty.

Meanwhile, as many as eight towns in the state witnessed maximum temperature of 40 degree Celsius on Monday.
