Headmaster thrashed for 'molesting' girl student in Odisha's Balasore

A headmaster was reportedly thrashed after he allegedly molested a girl student in Bhograi area of Balasore district on Monday.

Locals allegedly thrashed the headmaster while accusing him of molesting the girl student of Chandipur Mundhabani Nodal School. 

It is alleged that a few days ago, the headmaster of the school, Gobinda Jena molested a girl student. Later, a meeting was held over the issue on the school premises on Monday. Some villagers, teachers, and the cluster resources centre coordinator were present at the meeting. 

The headmaster reportedly admitted to his wrongdoing and tendered apologies at the meeting. 

However, guardians created a ruckus and clamoured for stern action against the errant teacher and his immediate dismissal from the service. 

After seeking apologies, the headmaster was trying to flee the spot but was intercepted by the former. The angry villagers then allegedly thrashed him.

However, the accused teacher denied the charges of molestation while speaking to the media.    

Speaking on the matter, CRCC Lambodar Jena said, “The headmaster was accused of molesting a student. A meeting was held with villagers and the teacher over the issue. I came to the school to settle the issue. The headmaster admitted to his wrongdoing.”
    
Block education officer Kamalochan Biswal said that the president of the school managing committee informed him about the alleged molestation by the teacher. “I had sent the CRCC to the meeting. After his report, the next course of action will be considered against the teacher,” the BEO added.
