Odisha CM welcoming the Governor-designate
Hari Babu Kambhampati will officially assume the role of Odisha Governor on Friday (January 3, 2025). Having arrived in Bhubaneswar on Thursday, the incoming Governor was given a ceremonial Guard of Honour at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA).
Among those greeting him were the Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the Deputy Chief Ministers Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, and Cabinet members.
Following his arrival, Governor-designate Kambhampati travelled to Puri, where he along with his family offered prayers and sought blessings of the deities at Jagannath temple. The family will stay at night at Raj Bhavan in the pilgrim town.
The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place tomorrow morning at the Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar. His appointment was announced on December 24 last year, succeeding his previous tenure as the Governor of Mizoram.
Worth mentioning, President Droupadi Murmu appointed Hari Babu Kambhampati as the new Governor of Odisha after Raghubar Das resigned from the position.
Previously, the President of India accepted the resignation of Raghubar Das as Governor of Odisha. He was appointed to the position of Governor on October 18, 2023.
Kambhampati has a B.Tech Degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering, an ME in Electrical and Control Systems, and a PhD in Control Systems from Andhra University.
The new Governor has experience of around 24 years as an Associate Professor at Andhra University, where he significantly contributed to the academic development of engineering students, providing them with the necessary skills for their careers.
