Harassed and mentally tortured by Khurda Collector, alleges his PA

A police complaint has been lodged against Khurda Collector K Sudarshan Chakravarthy accusing him of mental abuse and harassment. Shockingly, the allegations were levelled by none other than his personal assistant (PA) Hemant Bhoi.

Bhoi alleged that the bureaucrat has been mentally torturing him and making casteist remarks against him. "Khurda Collector has been torturing me for quite a few days now. Even today morning, he misbehaved with me. I tried not to react but it affected my blood pressure, I had to go to the hospital for a check-up. I really don't know the reason behind such behaviour," Bhoi said.

Allegedly, this has been happening for nearly two months now. Bhoi went on to say, "I am being rebuked for every little thing. He asks me to go and guard the rest office. I am being treated as if I am a peon or a sweeper or a gardener. My wife filed a complaint with the police today. She has clearly mentioned in the complaint that if anything happens to me or my family, Collector will be responsible."

Bhoi’s wife Sabita Nayak said, “I have lodged a complaint with Sir (Khurda model police station IIC). Let’s see how the inquiry is being carried out and what action is taken. They will find out what is true and what’s false in the course of the investigation.”

On the other hand, Khurda ADM Manoj Padhi said he is not aware of what has transpired. “This is one family, this is our home, and Collector is like the head of the family. Suppose, as ADM if my sub-ordinate/staff didn’t do the work assigned, and I have rebuked, definitely it will hurt the person. In that case, it is also my responsibility to discuss and sort it out amicably. In the present case, we have no idea what exactly has happened,” Padhi said.

The District Collector hasn’t responded to Bhoi's allegations as yet.
