The fraud case of Hansita Abhilipsa, the fraudulent tycoon and real-life ‘Babli’ accused of duping several high-profile personalities in the state, is getting murkier each day with more web of lies and deception emerging following her arrest.
In the most recent twist, a photo featuring her alongside Manoj Acharya, a Congress leader from Kandhamal district and a former MP candidate, has raised speculations about her recent statements.
As per her admission to the police, Hansita had stated that she was married to Saroj Sahu, a businessman from the Ganjam district. However, a photo of her pre-wedding celebration with Manoj Acharya has gone viral on social media. The photo of her and Manoj Acharya, obtained by OTV, is allegedly a pre-wedding photo. As such, the con woman is believed to be still trying to mislead probe authorities with dubious statements.
It is yet to be ascertained if she was married to Manoj Acharya or Saroj Sahu. Preliminary reports suggest she would marry people to scam them later.
Incidentally, a pandora's box of massive fraud was opened when Hansita Abhilpsa and her aide, Anil Mohanty, were arrested on December 31 last year for deceiving several influential figures by impersonating the daughter and son-in-law of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Principal Secretary PK Mishra.

The duo allegedly obtained favors and secured deals running into crores of rupees by assuring several high-profile business owners and personalities of getting their tenders passed. Further, they were also accused of corruption and consolidating large sums of money to consolidate a fraudulent empire.
On the last day of 2024, Infocity Police raided the purported offices of the two in Bhubaneswar and took them into custody. Thereafter, vigilance sleuths carried out massive raids to unearth all the misappropriated funds while police continued their interrogation into the case, while also nabbing Saroj Sahu, on January 7.

Notably, the accused Hanista Abhilipsa denied all charges pressed against her during a probing inquiry on January 9 and claimed that she was being framed.
