Half-burnt body of elderly woman recovered from house in Balasore 

The half-burnt body of an elderly woman was found inside her house on Sunday at Belada village under Bhograi Block of Balasore district. 

According to sources, this morning, the victim’s family members found her half-burnt body in their house verandah. 

The victim’s son Sambhunath informed that his mother committed suicide over a family dispute. On the other hand, the villagers alleged that Sambhunath killed his mother over Rs 6 lakh life insurance money.

On being informed, the police reached the spot and initiated a probe into the matter. 

“When I woke up this morning I found that the door of my mother’s room was open and she was not in the room. After searching, I found her half-burnt body in the verandah of the house. She took such an extreme step due to a dispute in the family,” said Sambhunath.

“This morning we received information and reached the victim’s house. Even after asking, they were not showing the body. After all the villagers demanded, they showed us the body. We are sure that the victim’s son has murdered her over insurance money,” said a villager.
