Campus violence returned to Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar Autonomous College once again after two groups of students clashed on campus leaving two of them injured.

As per reports, there was a tiff over some comments being passed at a girl student on the campus. It is alleged that two plus 2 students of the college were thrashed by the boarders of Ambedkar Hostel on the campus.

One of the students involved in the incident, Sunil Pradhan said, “We went to the Principal yesterday, who told us to give him the name and roll numbers of the students. After I gave the principal the roll number, the principal summoned him and mediated a truce between us.”

However, after meeting the Principal, they (attackers) called me and my friend to the hostel and thrashed us there,” he alleged.

Complaints were filed from both sides at Badagada Police Station in this connection after which the police have begun a probe.

Earlier on July 4, tension had gripped BJB College after a similar clash erupted between two groups of students which saw members of a student group detaining three members of another group inside the HOD’s room.
