Got 'cheated' in love, Odisha girl sits on dharna outside boyfriend’s house, vows to kill herself

Deceived in relationship, a young girl has been sitting on dharna outside her boyfriend’s house at Sarakana village under Balianta police limits in the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. With no food and water, the young girl has been sitting outside her lover’s house while he has been on the run with his family.

The house is locked from the outside while the girl continues her sit-in with allegedly no help from the police or administration. Now, she has vowed to kill herself and holds her boyfriend Biswajit Samantaray, and his family responsible for her condition.

“I love him deeply. He also loved me. We connected through Facebook and soon our friendship blossomed into love. We had informed our families about our relationship. He informed his parents and I informed mine. Later, he along with his parents came to my house with a marriage proposal,” claimed the girl.

She further said, “We were engaged. He has taken a lot of money from me to repay his loans and EMIs. But, later they started demanding more money and when I failed to meet their demands, they called off the wedding.”

“As both our families had agreed to our marriage, I have had a physical relationship with him. He has pictures and videos of our intimate moments and is now blackmailing me. He is sharing it on Instagram and Facebook. When I lodged a complaint with Badagad police, the whole family had gone into hiding,” she alleged.

Besides, the girl accused Badagad police of sitting idle on her written complaint.

“Despite a written complaint, the police are not doing anything to help me. Since I loved him, was engaged to him, and had physical relationship, I want him to marry me. If not, I will end my life here outside his house. If anything happens to me or if I die, then Biswajit Samantaray and his family should be held responsible,” the girl stated.
