Girl student dead, 2 injured after auto rickshaw overturns in Odisha’s Bhadrak

A girl student lost her life after the auto-rickshaw she was travelling overturned at Mandari Chhak under Bhadrak’s Basudevpur block on Friday.

Two other students were critically injured in the mishap too and were rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment.

A student, Himani Raula who was travelling in the same rickshaw and escaped unhurt, said, “We were seven to eight students in that rickshaw. The driver took a turn and it turned turtle. One of my friend died on the spot and two other girls are in the hospital with minor injuries.”

Following the accident, palpable tension prevailed in the area with the family members of the deceased blaming the administration for the mishap.
