Girl elopes with ‘boyfriend’ hours before marriage in Odisha’s Bolangir

A girl from Budhisindhol village under Puintala police station in Bolangir district reportedly eloped with her boyfriend from her house hours before her marriage.

As per the family members, the girl had a love relationship with a man in the village and she might have eloped with her.

While the family members were preparing to welcome the baratis, the girl went outside of her house to attend nature’s call and never returned home.

Perturbed over the development, the family members searched every nook and corner of the village and the nearby areas, but in vain. 

The father of the girl has lodged a missing complaint in Puintala police station.

“We were ready for the marriage and all the preparations were made. However, it is shocking that my daughter fled away hours before the marriage ceremony. We are guessing that she has eloped with a boy from our village. The development is really frustrating,” said the father of the girl.

Meanwhile, the family members of the bridegroom are shocked by the development. They had no option but to cancel the marriage.
