Love is in the air and as the Valentine’s week continues to bond the couple struck by the cupid, the gifting business has been witnessing a boom after a hiatus of two years.

Be it the Teddy day or Chocolate day or Promise day, the week before the Valentine’s Day on February 14 generally witnesses love struck youths buying gifts for their loved ones.

The businessmen did not get to capitalise on the love week in the last two years.

A gift shop owner, Adwait said, “Earlier, we used to get good business during the Valentine’s week. But it was dull in the last two years due to Covid restrictions.”

“However, this year around; the counter bells are ringing again. We have stocked up different kinds of gifts and cards for the youths to celebrate the week. Hope we will see brisk business this year,” he added.

A newly-married couple, Amar Pratap Sahu and Diptimayee Pradhan, celebrating their first Valentine’s Day this year, said they are excited to gift each other.

“Though we celebrate February 14 as the Valentine’s Day, I feel, it should be observed every day. Love should not diminish from our lives ever," said, Amar.

An excited Diptimayee said, “Because it is our first Valentine's Day together, we have planned a lot of things from travelling to eating out. We have even got surprise gifts for each other. Let’s see how this pans out on the 14th.”
