A school teacher in Koraput district's Dasamantapur block rescued a giant python found in a village farmland, on Thursday. The 12-foot python had caused panic among locals, but the teacher's swift action helped safely release it back into the wild.

According to sources, a gigantic python was rescued in the morning from a farmland in Girla village of Koraput district. The huge python, measuring nearly 12 feet, was discovered inside an agricultural field, causing panic among the villagers.

A local teacher named Sabha Jani, travelling through the area, displayed bravery and caught the snake. After the rescue, the teacher released the snake back into the jungle. The visuals of this act have gone viral on social media, capturing the attention of many.

No comments were received in this regard either from the school teacher Jani or Forest Department authorities in Koraput.

Worth mentioning, a huge python was earlier spotted while swimming in the Ib River near Sundargarh, in May this year, sending a wave of excitement and concern among locals.

A video of a youth trying to capture the serpent gracefully moving through the water had gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention as well as criticism.

According to eyewitness accounts, the sighting had occurred near the banks of Ib River close to Sundargarh Government College. A local youth, who was present at the riverbank, first noticed the enormous reptile as it made its way through the river's shallow waters.

The python was estimated to be around 10 feet in length, making it one of the largest wild snakes sighted in the region in recent times.
