Notorious gangster Sushant Dhal Samant will be shifted from Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack on Thursday.

Process for shifting of Dhal Samant has already been started in presence of Bolangir police. He will be carried in a live support ambulance with ICU facility from VIMSAR to SCB.

Dhal Samant was undergoing treatment in VIMSAR due to cardiac problem amid tight security. He was brought from Bolangir jail and was admitted to VIMSAR on December 17.

As per reports, Dhal Samant had high blood sugar, cardiac problem and other multiple clinical complications. Since there was no improvement in his health condition while undergoing treatment at VIMSAR, the hospital authorities referred him to SCB medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

Arrest Of ‘D Brothers’

Earlier, Sushant and his younger brother Sushil were arrested in January 2016 and initially lodged at Choudwar jail in Cuttack.

In 2016, police had made prayer in Court to keep the two gangster brothers in two different jails in the State as it was not safe to keep the duo in a single jail.

Hearing the plea, the court had then allowed Commissionerate Police to keep Sushil in Balasore jail and Sushant at Jharpada jail.

However, Sushant Dhal Samant was later shifted from Jharpada jail in Bhubaneswar to Bolangir jail.
