Rain in Mohana
Keeping in view the forecast of heavy rainfall in the coming 24 hours, the block administration in Mohana of Gajapati district is now on high alert. ASHA workers are engaged in creating awareness among the public, while 14 panchayats have been identified as landslide-prone areas. Officials stated that a close watch is being kept on these regions to avoid any untoward incidents.

The administration has confirmed that arrangements are in place to shift residents immediately to these shelters in case of emergencies arising from heavy rain or landslides.

Awareness is being raised through microphone announcements made by ASHA workers. In villages that are vulnerable and prone to landslides, shelter homes have already been identified. Residents who do not have permanent (pucca) houses are being advised to relocate to nearby government infrastructure such as school buildings or Anganwadi centres to seek shelter.”
The administration has assured that all precautionary measures are in place to protect people living in vulnerable areas.
