Born and brought up in Odisha’s Berhampur, Odia boy Sunit Das has proved his mettle in Bollywood as a choreographer. His journey from Silk City to Maya Nagari Mumbai is quite interesting. 

Despite belonging to a humble background, poverty couldn’t stop him from dreaming big and now he has carved a niche for himself in the tinsel town thanks to his sheer determination to do big and hard work.

Of late, Sunit has hogged headlines for making Big B dance on his dance steps in the Hindi movie Uunchai which features senior Hindi film artistes like Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Danny Denzongpa, Parineeti Chopra, Neena Gupta and Sarika.Sunit has worked as assistant choreographer in the movie.

Shaking legs with none other than the legendary Big B in the now trending song Keti Ko is nothing like a dream come true for Sunit. Boman Irani, Danny Denzongpa and Anupam Kher were also seen dancing on the floors with Big B and Sunit in the song.

Sharing his experience of working with Big B, Sunit said, “I am so happy that I got an opportunity to work with legendary artistes of Bollywood like Amitabh sir.  Working with him is a sort of achievement for me. 

Earlier, Sunit has already worked as an assistant choreographer with ace choreographers Remo D'Souza, Ahmed Khan and Farah Khan. He was part of Bollywood projects like Race 3, Baghi 2, Samrat Prithviraj, Fukrey Returns. Besides, he has showcased his talent as a choreographer in Telugu movies. 

Also, he has worked with several popular Bollywood celebrities including Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Tiger Shroff.  

Sumit used to run a dance group in the name of Rhythm before leaving for Mumbai to prove his luck. Later, he joined Krishna Reddy’s Krish Dance Group which helped him come to limelight.

Sunit’s father is a tailor by profession. But he has fulfilled all his son’s demands so that the latter could follow his dream. 

His father said, “Sunit was pursuing Hotel Management. After completion of his course, he left for Mumbai to follow his passion. Thereafter, Sunit has never looked back. He was pretty sure about making a mark in Bollywood as a choreographer and he did it today.”

Sunit’s teacher Apana Maharana said, “From his childhood, he has proved his potentiality.  He was very hard working from the very beginning. That’s why he is able to make artistes like Big B dance on his steps.”
