Odia Jatra actress Sonali
The world of the Odia Jatra industry has once again been rocked by controversy. This time it involves Jatra actress Sonali and her estranged husband, Shreekhetra Prasad Samanta Singhar. In a dramatic turn of events, the couple’s 12-year-old son appeared at the Krushnaprasad police station in Puri, levelling serious allegations and pleading for justice for his father.
The boy, submitted a written statement to the police, asserting that his father is being falsely implicated in a criminal case.
“Ever since my birth, my mother left me, and I have been living with my father, and he has been taking care of me. I have never been with my mother. A conspiracy has been hatched against my father, so he will be punished. I demand that a DNA test be done on me and my parents. Nandu Babu is trying to ensnare my father,” he alleged.
The child’s statement comes in the wake of a complaint filed by Sonali at Balichandrapur police station in Jajpur district, where she accused her husband of forcibly marrying her when she was a minor. The allegations have led to the possibility of arrest for Shreekhetra Prasad Samanta Singh, casting a shadow over his reputation and career.
According to the boy’s account, he has always lived with his father and fears being left alone if his father is taken into custody. He claims that the accusations are part of a deliberate plot orchestrated by Nandu Babu, a prominent figure in the Jatra industry.
Despite the gravity of the situation, neither Sonali nor Nandu Babu has issued any public statement or responded to the police regarding the boy’s claims.
This unfolding drama has stirred considerable attention in the local theatre community, with many awaiting further developments. The case raises troubling questions about familial discord, the use of legal mechanisms in personal disputes, and the emotional toll on children caught in the crossfire.
