The free coaching for students to help them prepare for national-level examinations like NEET and JEE started via virtual mode in Plus-II Colleges across Odisha on Thursday.

The initiative has been rolled out in all the government, non-government and aided colleges free of cost for enhancement of the competitive ability of the aspirants.

Smart TV and interactive panel arrangement has been made in those colleges for imparting the coaching in an effective manner.

As per sources, the nodal officer will inform about the presence of students in coaching classes to the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education on a daily basis. The college authorities have also been asked to appoint mentor teachers to help the students during online coaching.

Notably, many higher secondary schools have received assistance for smart classes under CM-SA from the Planning and Coordination department for imparting online coaching to the aspirants.

“It’s a noble initiative by the government. NEET and JEE aspirants are spending a lot of money on coaching in private coaching centres. The government is providing free online coaching for NEET and JEE this year. The initiative has started today. All the Higher Secondary schools were earlier told to prepare an enrolment of the students willing to attend online coaching classes for NEET and JEE. As many as 98 and 126 students have been enrolled for JEE and NEET respectively in our educational institution,” said Ranjan Kumar Bal, Chairman of BJB Secondary School.

“The warming session is going on. Considering the number of students we are planning to set up another smart classroom soon,” he added.
