Four persons from Odisha stranded in Uttarakhand
Four youths from Keonjhar district are reportedly stranded in Uttarakhand due to a landslide.
The stranded youths have been identified as Rishinath Mahanta, Sadanada Sahu, Karttik Khilar and Maheswar Pradhan.
The four friends had reached there on July 31 to visit the Kedarnath shrine. During their visit heavy downpour lashed the pilgrimage town, leading to a landslide. They have since been stranded there.
While their family members were in apprehension, they reportedly received phone calls from them informing that they were safe.
“They were on a trip to Kedarnath. On Thursday, we failed to contact them over their mobile phones as they were switched off. On Friday, we came to know about the landslide. Later, my brother called me to inform that he was safe and there was nothing to worry for them,” said Fakir Mohan Mahanta, brother of Rishinath Mahanta.
