A day after seven persons were killed in a tragic road mishap in Jajpur, at least four persons, including a minor girl, died in separate road accidents in Odisha on Sunday.

Tension prevailed after a minor girl died after being hit by a tractor at Kantapali village under Dungripali block. The deceased was riding a bicycle when the tractor hit her. Irate over the incident, the locals blocked the road by placing tree branches.

In another incident, one person died while six others were injured after a pickup van was hit by mini-truck on Chanpur bypass on NH 16 in Nayagarh district on Sunday. All the injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital.

Similarly, one person was killed and two others sustained multiple injuries after their bike was hit by a speeding Hywa near Kendrikala village in Sundargarh district. Following the accident, the Hywa driver fled the spot. On getting information, locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to the hospital.

However, one Ashok Kumar Patra died while undergoing treatment at the hospital. Bonai police has started investigation and launched a manhunt to nab the absconding Hywa truck driver.

A motorist was killed after being hit by a speeding bus at Manpada on Brahmagiri-Delang road in Puri district on Sunday. Following the collision, Kamal Samantray of Apithi village died on the spot. Brahmagiri police soon started investigation into the incident.
