As many as six persons lost their lives in two separate road mishaps in Odisha on Friday night.

In the first mishap, a car met with an accident near Gadadharpur village under Cuttack’s Tigiria police limits killing all the four occupants of the vehicle on the spot.

The deceased have been identified as Tapan Rout and Tulu Parida from Palaput village in Banki, Rama Swain from Harirajpur village, and another from Badamba area in Cuttack.

As per the sources, all the deceased were friends who were returning from Koili Kanya village after attending a marriage feast on Friday night. The driver lost control of the steering wheel and the car dashed into a wall of a house.

The impact was so severe that the car turned into a mangled heap pinning the four friends inside it who died on the spot.

While the exact reason behind the mishap is under investigation, as per the Tigiria IIC, the mishap might have happened due to dense fog.

In the second mishap, two bikers were killed after a collision with a bus at Janhia Chhak near Nischintakoili in Cuttack on Friday night.

As per reports, the bus rolled down to a farmland beside the road after the collision. All the passengers of the bus are reportedly safe.

Salepur police reached the spot following the mishap and sent the bodies for post-mortem.

The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
