Former sarpanch abducted during morning walk in odisha, CCTV footage surfaces
A former sarpanch was allegedly abducted during his regular morning walk in Odisha’s Rairakhol on Wednesday. According to reports, a few unidentified miscreants forcibly put him in a car. The entire act has been caught on a CCTV, which has now been obtained by the police.
Debarchan Mirdha, the former sarpanch of Ghushuramala Panchayat, had been living in a rented house at Ganesh Nagar under Rairakhol Police limits. Like every other day, he had stepped out early in the morning for his routine walk along the Burda road. Suddenly, a white-coloured car approached, a few people come out of it and forcefully pulled Debarchan into the vehicle and sped away.
On getting information, police reached the location of the incident and begun a thorough investigation. They are currently analysing the CCTV footage for further clues. Interestingly, when officials visited the rented house where the former sarpanch’s family resided, they found the house locked, raising suspicions. Many questions are now emerging around the mysterious circumstances of the abduction. Further probe is underway.
