Former Bhubaneswar MP Prasanna Patasani to join BJP

Former Bhubaneswar MP Prasanna Patasani is all set to snap his ties with the BJD to embrace BJP. 

As per sources, the former Parliamentarian is presently camping in Delhi. He is having discussions with the BJP leaders at party headquarters. Soon, he will be officially inducted into the party.

Patasani was an MP from Bhubaneswar from 1998 to 2019. In the 2019 general elections, he was dropped. In the 2024 general elections, he was one of the ticket aspirants for the Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha seat but this time too the party denied him a ticket. The party instead fielded Manmath Routray, son of senior Suresh Routray. He then eyed for the Chilika Assembly constituency but the party nominated Raghunath Sahu from there.
