Amidst dense fog which continues to cloud almost all the districts of Odisha, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted rain and thundershowers for some of the North-West Odisha districts.

As per the IMD, light rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Jharsuguda and Mayurbhanj on January 5 and 6. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest of the districts of Odisha.

Meanwhile, no large change in minimum temperature (Night temperature) will happen over the districts of Odisha during next five days. It is likely to remain above normal by 2 to 3 degree Celsius in many places of Odisha.

While the winter chill is gradually fading, several parts of the state are likely to experience dense fog for the next two to three days. A yellow warning has also been issued for several districts by the IMD.

The districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Khordha, Puri, Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal, Dhenkanal, Rayagada and Koraput are likely to witness dense fog on January 4 and 5.

A thick blanket of fog covered Odisha's Capital Bhubaneswar and other parts of the State on Wednesday morning reducing the visibility to below 50mtrs at some places.

It created problems for the commuters and early office-goers in different districts. Normal life was also affected in Bhubaneswar as well. Especially, the movement of vehicular traffic on the outskirts of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar and other parts was affected due to dense fog.
