ICC, Faculty, Students Under Scrutiny

The UGC team is likely to question eight to nine students, especially those who were present during the incident or had submitted complaints earlier. All faculty members, Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) members, and other staff will also be questioned. The ICC has been issued a notice to appear before the team. The investigation is expected to be conducted at a microscopic level.

Crime Branch Steps Up Parallel Probe

Alongside the UGC, the Crime Branch is also probing the incident. On Thursday, it questioned several individuals, including the owner of the petrol pump where the inflammable liquid was procured. CCTV footage from the college has also been seized. The Crime Branch is coordinating with the police team already investigating the case.

Key Questions and Past Negligence Raised

Several questions have emerged over whether the victim had indicated plans to attempt self-immolation and if her earlier complaints were being deliberately buried. The fact-finding team from the UGC is also trying to determine if anyone encouraged or provoked the victim to take such an extreme step.

Multiple Angles Being Explored Simultaneously

Both the UGC and Crime Branch are investigating the matter independently but are expected to examine similar angles, including the college administration's handling of earlier complaints and whether any institutional lapses contributed to the situation.
