Fire breaks out at SBI branch in Ghasipura, Keonjhar
A fire broke out at the State Bank of India (SBI) branch located in Ghasipura, Keonjhar late last night. While no exact reason of the fire was ascertained immediately, prima-facie the fire is believed to have started from an electrical short circuit.
No injuries or casualties were reported. However, documents and other valuables worth lakhs of rupees reportedly reduced to ashes. The matter came to the fore after passers-by spotted fire emanating from the building housing the bank and alerted the fire tender team.
On being informed, two fire tender teams rushed to the spot and brought the flames under control.
Since the fire broke out at night, the bank was locked and no one was present inside. The cash, computers and others gadgets are reportedly safe.
A few cabins, documents and other valuables were damaged in the fire accident.
