Final voter list in Odisha to be published on Jan 5, 2024

The final voter list in Odisha will be published on January 5, 2024, as preparations for the 2024 general elections are already underway. 

This was informed by the Chief Electoral Officer of Odisha, Nikunja Kumar Dhal on Wednesday after holding a meeting with members of all registered political parties in Bhubaneswar.  Dhal underscored the need for hastening the preparation of an error-free voter list.

He further stated that the draft voter list will be published in the offices of all the sub-collectors while a date has been fixed for rectification of errors. Complaints regarding anomalies and errors will be received from the public between October 27 and December 9 while hearing of complaints will be held by December 26.

Youths aged 18-19 will be included in the voter list through special drives which will be held for four days - on November 5, 11, 19 and 25. The booth-level officer will be present at the special drives to assist the officials engaged in the programme.
