Dismissing speculations of the BJD-BJP alliance in the upcoming 2024 elections, Odisha Saha Pravari (co in-charge) of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Vijaypal Singh Tomar made it clear that his party would not forge any alliance with any party in the state.

Speaking exclusively to OTV on Sunday after the meeting of the state-level party functionaries and district unit presidents in Bhubaneswar, the BJP leader felt that some leaders of the ruling party BJD have been floating rumours about the BJD-BJP alliance in the coming elections. Tomar asserted that there is a possibility for the BJP winning more Assembly seats in Odisha.

He also claimed that the Narendra Modi wave is sweeping across the country in favour of the BJP. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP made a clean sweep in recently concluded Assembly elections in three states like Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan while the vote per cent in Telangana went up to 18 per cent from 8 per cent.

The party will register its victories in 80 Assembly seats and 16 Lok Sabha segments in Odisha. The voter segments like women and youth are in favour the BJP,” he added.

Launching a veiled attack on the 5T chairperson, the saffron leader said that the super Chief Minister who is running the government knows well that the BJP will form government in the state and at the centre this time.

When asked about the Srimandir Parikrama project and the controversy surrounding social media influencer Kamiya Jani’s entry into the temple, Vijaypal Singh Tomar said that the BJD government has been promoting corruption, scams, atrocities on women and shielding the corrupt.

The BJP leader accused the state government of protecting the people who have been involved in several cases relating to atrocities on women. He also said that both state and Central leaders of the BJP are trying their level best to ensure the victory for the party to install the double-engine government in Odisha.

However, no comments have been received by the Biju Janata Dal(BJD)
