The residents of Odisha will witness chilly weather conditions in the coming days as the night temperature is likely to fall significantly by 3-5 degree Celsius, informed the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre.

Shallow to moderate fog is also likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Odisha.

The current night temperature is 2 to 3 degrees more than normal due to cloud in the skies. However, it will drop further after the skies get clear.

As per the Met department, Odisha is likely to see dry weather for the next five days after the rains subside on Friday. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 28 degree C and 17 degree C respectively in the next 24 hours.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a milder winter for the country from December 2023 to February 2024.

The forecast indicates that the intensity and frequency of cold waves are expected to be lower than usual in the majority of north, northwest, central, east, and northeast India.

Scientists attribute this deviation from normal winter conditions to below-average western disturbances, reducing the influx of colder winds from snow-clad regions to parts of northwest and central India.
