These days, the residents of the Nachuni area under Tangi range of Khordha district are spending sleepless nights as a leopard has been on the prowl in nearby Sulia forest.
After noticing pugmarks, the Forest Department has already confirmed the movement of a big cat in the locality and, at the same time, advised people not to panic. The people of Moramori panchayat have been advised not to go to their farmland alone.
They have also been asked to inform the Forest department immediately if they spot the presence of the animal.

Meanwhile, the Forest Department has taken several measures to keep a watch on the movements of the big cat. Ultramodern drone cameras are being used to trace its movement.
On September 20, a carcass of a bull was found lying in the jungle. The Forest Department’s investigation confirmed that the bull was attacked by a big cat. However, the animal is yet to be sighted.
