Taking stern action in connection with fake certificate case, the India Post Department has sacked three branch post masters in Kendrapara district who had secured jobs by furnishing fake educational certificates, on Monday.

The three terminated post masters are Prassana Kumar Sethi, Soumya Ranjan Sethi and Mamashree Bharati, all from Bhadrak district.

According to sources, the trio has got the jobs by submitting fake certificates issued by the boards of other States.

The trio has been absconding after the racket came to fore, informed Kendrapara division postal superintendent, adding that, while one was working with the department for the last two years and the rest two have joined duties six months back.

“Generally, we offer a job after certificate verification. During verification, the certificates of the three branch post masters were found to be fake and they were terminated subsequently. Further certificate verification is on,” said Debaraj Sethi, postal superintendent of Kendrapara division.

It is worthwhile to mention here that one Anita Jena, who is also a resident of Bhadrak, had also submitted fake matriculation certificate to secure Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) job in Kendrapara division.

The matter came to fore during certificate verification.

Anita’s Matric certificate was issued in the name of Adarsh Arya SS High School at Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh. 

The certificate mentioned that Jena scored 99 marks out of 100 in Odia in the Matriculation examination.
