Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) of Keonjhar District Headquarters Hospital on Friday approached Town Police alleging a fake appointment letter signed by him doing rounds on social media.

With unemployment rising in the state, jobless youths are alleged to have followed fraudulent tricks to get jobs.

Of late, a fake appointment letter meant for the post of a junior clerk, an attendant, a peon and NNM positions of Keonjhar Medical College and Hospital having the signature of Keonjhar CDMO has surfaced.

In the letter bearing no-8151, it is mentioned that these employees have been given recruitment at Keonjhar Medical College and Hospital.

However, CDMO made it clear that no letter with the above mentioned number has been issued from CDMO’s office. Also, signature put up in the appointment letter is not his signature.

The CDMO sent the fake appointment letter to the Dean following which an investigation was carried out. And it was established that the appointment letter is a fake one. The signature of CDMO, seal and the letter pad used in the letter are fake.

On the basis of the complaint filed by CDMO, Kenojhar, Town Police meanwhile registered a case in this connection and launched a probe into it.

Inspector-in-Charge Promodini Sahu said, “CDMO of the District Headquarters Hospital has filed a complaint alleging his signature has been faked to get appointment in headquarters hospital. We will investigate the matter and take necessary action.”
