Face-off between two factions of BJP on Bhubaneswar outskirts

Unprecedented scenes were witnessed following a tussle between two groups of BJP during a programme organised at Balakati area on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on Sunday.

As per reports, BJP had organised a special event to listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s radio programme, ‘Mann Ki Baat’ along with a workshop on membership drive.

Odisha BJP in-charge Vijaypal Singh Tomar and BJP National Vice-President Baijayant Panda attended the event. However, some workers created a ruckus as Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi was allegedly not invited.

Irate over this, some party workers created a ruckus and were involved in a tussle with another group.

Taking a stern note of the incident, Tomar said, “I have come and not aware. Five to ten persons have met me and we will take note of it, but no one will be given rights to indulge in indiscipline.”

Tomar further said that be it any MP or MLA, any kind of groupism or indiscipline will be tolerated. Action will also be taken if there is some lacuna on the part of the organisation, he added.

Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi could not be contacted over the matter despite several attempts.
